  34. Image is a powerful image processing application.  It can read and write
  35. images in various formats and manipulates images internally in 24-bit
  36. colour for the best results.  Images larger than memory can be handled
  37. so a hard disc is advisable.  Its features include:
  38. * Colour operations (brighten, darken, gamma, user defined etc.)
  39. * Kernel operations (sharpen, smooth, edge detection etc.)
  40. * Various resize, rotate and merge operations
  41. * Extensive masking facilities
